BCO Cycle Challenge raises over £30,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust

Our commercial director Mark Vincent was one of a group of cyclists that recently took part in the London to Amsterdam Cycle Challenge on their way to the BCO Conference 2016.

Cycling on behalf of the Teenage Cancer Trust, the group has so far group raised over £30,000 for the only UK charity dedicated to supporting the seven young people aged between 13 and 24 diagnosed with cancer every day.

This phenomenal amount of money will provide over 1,200 hours of vital nursing care by a Teenage Cancer Trust clinical nurse specialist who understands what it is like for a young person fighting cancer and is there to help them feel less frightened about what is ahead. This short film[], tells the story of Nicky – one of Teenage Cancer Trust’s fantastic lead nurses and highlights the value of this amazing charity.

“It was a challenging but rewarding trip,” said Mark. “The conference itself was a valuable experience from a professional point of view and to travel to Amsterdam on two wheels meant we got to enjoy some beautiful scenery on the way, whilst testing ourselves physically and keeping ourselves motivated by thinking about the incredible charity we were cycling for.”
