Commissioning Engineers: Shaping the Future of Lighting Controls
As a Commissioning Engineer at Prolojik, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful implementation and operation of our lighting control systems. Whether you are an experienced lighting controls engineer or just starting your career after completing an electrical apprenticeship, we welcome applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
Key Responsibilities:
• Independence and Teamwork: Ability to work independently for most of the role, coupled with effective collaboration within a team.
• Technical Proficiency: Utilise a laptop and our commissioning software as primary tools, reading and interpreting technical guides, drawings, and schematics.
• Deadline-Driven: Work efficiently to meet tight deadlines, ensuring project progress and client satisfaction.
• Client Interaction: Communicate directly with clients to provide project updates, highlighting any remedial actions needed.
• Documentation: Construct detailed post-visit reports, showcasing attention to detail and thoroughness.
• Problem Solving: Operate with a problem-solving mindset and approach, addressing challenges proactively.
Our ideal candidate seamlessly balances independence and teamwork, demonstrating the ability to work autonomously for much of their time while also collaborating effectively within their wider team. Technical proficiency is a cornerstone of this position, requiring the adept use of a company-provided laptop and our specialised commissioning software.
The Commissioning Engineer role at Prolojik entails reading and interpreting technical guides, CAD drawings, and schematics to ensure precision in project execution. A deadline-driven mindset is essential, as the candidate must work efficiently to meet tight project timelines, ensuring continuous progress and client satisfaction.
Direct client interaction is a pivotal aspect, necessitating clear communication to provide project updates and promptly highlight any remedial actions required. Furthermore, the role involves the construction of detailed post-visit reports, showcasing an unwavering attention to detail and thoroughness in documentation.
A problem-solving mindset is integral to the Commissioning Engineer role, as the successful candidate is expected to address challenges proactively, contributing to the overall success of our projects.
About You:
To thrive in this role, you should have completed an electrical qualification, including the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. Experience in lighting controls, familiarity with addressing DALI control devices and lighting, and knowledge of IP network interfaces are advantageous.
Possessing a CSCS card, preferably the Gold ECS card, and excellent communication skills for client liaison and report writing are essential. As much of our work is based in London, candidates within commuting distance of Central London are preferred, but availability for UK-wide travel, including occasional Saturdays as overtime, is a requirement.
