Prolojik completes the shell and core fit-out of prestigious One Blackfriars redevelopment.

Prolojik has supplied its open protocol lighting system to the recently completed One Blackfriars, a luxury redevelopment from St George on London’s Southbank.

Prolojik has designed and delivered a bespoke networked DALI lighting system for the shell and core areas of One Blackfriars which includes 274 luxury apartments and a 161-bedroom boutique hotel. Incorporating all public and circulation areas, such as stairwells and emergency exit routes, the custom system is based on Prolojik’s Plexus range which enables full monitoring and emergency testing. Installation was carried out while construction was underway, thanks to Prolojik’s modular approach to system design. Rather than delay installation and commissioning until all 52 storeys were complete, Prolojik’s engineers were able to work on sub-sections of the system before connecting the full network on completion.

Mark Vincent, Commercial Director for Prolojik, commented: “One Blackfriars is a truly impressive redevelopment of an established London landmark and our track record of providing high specification bespoke lighting systems perfectly positioned Prolojik to respond to the requirements of this project.

“Our modular system design enabled our engineers to install and commission sections of the network architecture as construction continued, connecting the whole network at the end of the process. This approach also allows the lighting system to be managed at a sub-system level to ensure that emergency lighting testing via the DALI network, for example, is able to report reliably and effectively.”
