Bluetooth

The Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) radio is designed for very low power operation. Transmitting data over 40 channels in the 2.4GHz. Bluetooth LE supports multiple communication topologies, expanding from point-to-point to broadcast and, most recently, mesh, enabling Bluetooth technology to support the creation of reliable, large-scale device networks. While initially known for its device communications capabilities, Bluetooth LE is now also widely used as a device positioning technology to address the increasing demand for high accuracy indoor location services.

Prolojik utilises BLE 4.2 and 5.0 in its products to support a wide variety of applications from wireless mesh network in Prolojik Indigo products, to asset tracking in Prolojik Proxima.

EnOcean

The EnOcean wireless standard is geared to wireless sensors that utilize energy harvesting technology to draw energy from their surroundings – for example from motion, light or temperature differences. This principle enables electronic control systems to be used that work independently of an external power supply or batteries. The EnOcean wireless standard (ISO/ IEC 14543-3-1X) at 868MHz and their Bluetooth products at 2.4GHz are optimized for use in buildings, as a radio range of 30m indoors is possible.

Prolojik systems can integrate EnOcean 868Mhz sensors and switches using our PN660 gateways and can integrate EnOcean Bluetooth devices directly to our Indigo and Proxima product ranges.

Eddystone

Eddystone is a protocol specification developed by Google that defines a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) message format for proximity beacon messages. It describes data formats that can be used to create beacons that can be used for a variety of applications, including way-finding and geo-positioning.

Prolojik Proxima sensors can transmit Eddystone messages to support developers design apps to interact with the building in direct relation to their location.

iBeacon

iBeacon is a small-scale network device that uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and acts as a transmitter to detect and track smartphones. The Apple iBeacon protocol can be used to give push notifications and location-based services that takes advantage of the way BLE allows wireless devices to connect without human intervention.

iBeacon has many benefits including:
