This complex project involved stripping back the original structure and demolishing half of the original building, creating a mixed-use scheme with retail on the ground and first floors, with several floors of office space above and a restaurant on the ninth floor, with spectacular views of St Paul’s cathedral.
Prolojik was a key element of the shell and core construction phase, where a mixture of our PN400, PL434, PL531E, PL300s lighting control devices was used. Together these form what we call our ‘Plexus’ network. This raises the bar in terms of Digital Addressable Lighting Interface (DALI) technology.
Mark Vincent Prolojik Commercial Director commented ‘we were chosen by the team for this project as our baseline platform of open system technology allows a client to build an infrastructure that is able to handle the ever changing needs of a building and assist in delivering a Smart building platform that can be used by building operators and users alike
By way of example, data sent from Bluetooth-enabled lanyards to a network like this can be used to detect occupancy. This can then be used to aid the timing and frequency of cleaning regimes and limit the number of people in the building at any one time to ensure social distancing. This therefore gives confidence to potential future tenants when taking space and provides reassurance to occupants. The DALI functionality also enables emergency testing and reporting.
Those same lanyards can be used to tailor the experience and requirements of the user, from the required lighting to that day’s restaurant options, with the latter sent direct to the user’s phone.
This client really saw the value in our smart network’s ability to future proof this major office redevelopment by tracking the assets and protecting the building and its users.Occupants include Storey, British Land’s own flexible working offer, plus a mix of professional services including American law firm Milbank.
